As part of the IGNITE Quality Enhancement Plan, CTLE has been conducting faculty courses on active learning, inquiry learning, and collaborative learning. Each course consists of three sessions in which participants learn about the learning approach, how to implement it in their courses, and how to communicate that to colleagues. The deliverables for each course include a vision statement of how they might implement the learning approach and a briefing for colleagues on the approach for which they receive a CTLE digital badge.
Those who complete one of the courses are eligible to submit a proposal to redesign one of their courses to implement active, collaborative, or inquiry learning. Recipients then attend three workshops on redesigning courses, revise their course during the summer, implement and assess the revisions during the fall term, and report on their findings for which they receive a CTLE digital badge.
